Nominations are once again open for the Carter Wosk Awards for Applied Art & Design!

Each year, up to three recipients who demonstrate excellence in art with a practical or functional application receive a $2500 prize from The Carter Wosk Awards for Applied Art & Design. Emily Carr has a long history of recipients; here’s your chance to nominate the next winner!

Presented by the BC Achievement Foundation, an independent foundation established and endowed in 2003 by the Province of BC, the awards were created to celebrate British Columbians who, through their creativity, contribute to the cultural economy of the province. The awards are named in honour of philanthropist Dr. Yosef Wosk and ECU professor emeritus Sam Carter. Last year’s recipients included Form 3 Design, an industrial design product engineering firm with a team that includes ECU alumni. Artists and designers whose work includes, but is not limited to, furniture, textiles, jewellery, ceramics, weaving, glass, fashion, and industrial design are eligible for the award. For details and application information, visit the BC Creative Achievement Foundation. The deadline for applications is July 14, 2017.
