    Good morning,

I want to thank everyone who came to our community meeting yesterday.  We are in constant contact with Vancouver Police and their investigation is proceeding according to their protocols.  We have increased security at the campus and will continue to do so until at least the winter break.  We are also reexamining many of our emergency protocols.

As was mentioned at yesterday’s meeting, it would be helpful if all employees would register their cell phones on Inside ECU.  This will strengthen our capacity in the management of crisis communication.

Dear Students, Faculty, Staff and Administration,

On the evening of December 2, 2015, there was an incident in a class where it was reported that one student assaulted another student. The student who was attacked is in hospital, being treated with non-life threatening injuries. The police responded and are actively investigating.

We are deeply saddened and shocked by this evening’s incident. We are committed to the safety of all members of our community.

All classes are cancelled for tomorrow, Thursday, December 3, 2015. However, the campus remains open. Counselling is available in room 295. Extra security measures will be in place until further notice.

Come take a look any time between Tuesday, November 24 and Friday, November 27th in the South Building atrium.

To find out more about the project, view the short documentary.
