Holds can be placed free of charge and are unlimited. They may be placed on items that are available and will be put aside for you, or your name will be added to a wait list for items that are checked out. You will be contacted by email when the item is available.

A borrower who retrieves an item physically from the shelf will have priority over a pending hold.

If an item is checked out for the semester, it will be recalled from the current borrower. They will have two weeks from the recall date to return it to the library.  Items that have been recalled or have a hold cannot be renewed.

Please note, holds are processed only once a day and may not be available to pickup on the day you placed your request.

You will have 4 days to pick the item up. If it is not picked up within this period a non-pickup fee of $1 will be charged to your account. If you cancel a hold before the expiry date, the non-pickup fee will be waived.

The following items are NOT eligible for hold:
•    archives materials
•    artists' books
•    artists' files
•    journals
•    reference
•    reserve
•    slides
•    special collections
