In his artwork, Nick Conbere investigates ways to convey changes in the character of landscapes over time. He received an MFA in Printmaking from the University of Minnesota and an MFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts in New York. Past exhibition venues include the Minneapolis Institute of Arts and the International Print Center. His illustration work has included freelance work for clients such as McGraw-Hill Publishing and The New York Times, working as in-house illustrator for educational animation companies, and most recently creating illustrations for the book beholden: a poem as long as the river, published by Talonbooks in Vancouver. Nick’s recent work has been supported through multiple grants from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
