Mikhail Pertsev
Bio
Mikhail Pertsev is a second-generation artist. He grew up in the family of artists: his mother was a pianist and his father specialized in monumental painting and portraiture. From an early age Misha showed a strong inclination towards visual arts. At the age of 18 after seeing Michelangelo’s book, he made a decision to be an artist.
In 2006, he found himself graduating from Moscow’s Stroganoff University of Industrial Arts and Design with MFA in Monumental and Decorative Sculpture.
Even during his studies, Mikhail was doing commissioned works. His professional career as a free-lance sculptor is abundant with diverse experiences. He sculpted for theatrical productions, TV, commercials, jewellers and a chocolate factory, as well as private individuals.
After moving to Canada, his main focus remains in decorative and applied arts but now revolves more around private commissions and teaching.
