Bio
Valérie d. Walker is an alchemyst of code, transmedia artist, educator, curator, Indigo Griot, RadioWave creatrix & BIPOC Femme Cultural transmitter. She holds 5th level Ikebana (Japanese flower arranging) & Chado (tea-ceremony) degrees with Urasenke-Kyoto.
Valérie enjoys exploring Indigo Magique, Tactile Virtual Spaces, Solar powered Circuits, Storytelling Memory, environmentally healing studio processes, craft-based techniques, software imagining, programming, sensoriality, textile arts, natural dyeing & printing.
V has 17+ years of independent radio created on the XX Files Radio show online @Matricules (www.studioxx.org/xxfiles), Canada's only open-source, feminist digital media arts portal, listen & download freely!
V joins us from Montréal where she taught TechnoCulture, Arts & Gaming (TAG) & computation arts in Fine Arts Faculty of Concordia University. Involved with Studio XX for 17 years. In Montréal, V started a number of alternative, feminist LGBTQ+ hacker spaces, which like Studio XX are thriving.
