Scott T Mallory, Jr.
Bio
Scott Mallory is an ECU MFA alumnus, DDM Sessional Faculty, Founder of ISM Arts & Culture (focused on community opportunity at the intersection of new media, curation and education), Founder of TEDxEmilyCarrU (formerly TEDxECUAD), Founder of Boma ECU, and Arts & Culture Curator at TRIUMF Lab (Canada's particle accelerator centre) where he launched a virtual platform for rarely seen science experiments for high-energy cosmic events.
He works with video and sound arts, immersive 3D, visual effects, live instrumentation and electronic music, writing and performance. His work recently showed at Science World, the Biennial Foundation Annual Reception for Opening/Press Week of Venice Biennale 57, the inaugural Smithsonian NMAAHC exhibition (permanent collection), and the TED2016 Conference venue. His industry work includes 3D simulation prototyping at Side Effects Software. Active in the TED community, he has been a TEDx speaker, was featured by TED to share organizational workflows with the global TEDx community, and co-hosted an educational workshop breakout with TED for organizers at the TEDWomen 2018 conference. He was nominated for CACV's Young Philanthropist award. He teaches English as a foreign language (nominated best teacher), and is nominated for the Top 100 Leaders in Education Awards at Global Forum for Education and Learning.
Scott's educational background includes: BFA in Studio Art & Minor in Philosophy from University of Maryland (USA), VFX Diploma from VanArts, Filmmaking Certificates from London Film Academy (UK) and Prague Film School (CZ), CELTA teaching certification from IH Lisbon (PT), and Entreprenuership and Global Business Certificates from Harvard HBX.
