CEDR 163 SU01: Creative Drawing +architecture

This structured, high-energy course develops your basic to intermediate drawing and sketching skills, specifically related to space and spatial concerns. Exercises and projects focus on applying principles of perspective drawing, sketching concepts, and other compositional strategies. A variety of creative freehand techniques will allow you to develop your approach to architectural figurative drawing. Class work includes some drawing from a model.

Essential Items:

Required for first class:
* 3 Drawing Pencils HB, 2B, and 4B

Additional Materials required, to be discussed first class:	

* 2 Conte Sticks 2B or 4B
* 4 Black Drawing Pastels (Compressed Charcoal) square/rectangle
sticks, not round
* 1 Pencil Sharpener
* 1 Eraser
* Paper: suggested 11x17 printer paper or larger, 100 sheets
* 1 roll of Masking Tape

Additional Items (useful but not necessary:

* Thin rubber/nitrile gloves may be useful for charcoal dust	
* 1 Plastic Triangle (approx 12" size)
* 1 Plastic Straight Edge Ruler (approx 18" size)

***Print Cards and/or Printing Costs: students are responsible
for printing costs. Print Cards are available in the Library or
in machines located next to the main elevators. Note that Print
Card machines are cash only.

***Present your Registration Statement or your ECUAD student card
at Opus Framing & Art Supplies to qualify for a student
