CEDR 211 SU01: Cognitive + Critical Drawing

This dynamic course develops your basic to intermediate cognitive and critical drawing skills. Projects will lead students to understand the basic issues of both conscious and unconscious recordings, suspending one's state of mind and motive, as well as drawing as a means for critical inquiry, connection-making, and discourse. A variety of creative drawing techniques and materials will assist in developing a more intentional, self-aware and confident drawing practice.

Essential Items

* 1 Sketch book, letter size (can use one already started)
* 40 sheets Pacon Premium Weight bright white drawing paper 18x24
* 5 sheets Stonehenge paper, white, 22x30 
* Various Drawing Pencils (variety of weights from  HB-8B)
* 1 Kneadable Eraser
* 1 White Eraser
* 1 Pencil Sharpener
* 2 Graphite Sticks (suggested: 2B + 6B)
* 1 Stick Compressed Charcoal
* Various Selection of Conte Crayons (suggested: Wht, Blk,
* 1 Blending Stump
* 1 pkg Pastels, Soft Assorted Colours
* 1 pkg Pastels, Soft Black Charcoal 
* 1 pkg Willow Charcoal
* 1 Ink (India or similar black ink)
* 1 Brush (suggested: soft bristle, bamboo, or hake)
