CEID 120 SU01: Basics of Industrial Design

This course introduces you to the fundamentals of industrial design. In it, you will gain an awareness of the design process with an emphasis on design criteria. This will be followed by formulation of the design brief, development of creative concepts, user testing and quick model making. You will work on a design project through to completion of a full-scale model and a short design presentation.

Instructor information: 
Please bring the following supplies to class:
* 1 8.5"x11" paper folder (to keep sketches & 2D materials)
* 30 8.5"x11"regular bond paper (general purpose photocopy/inkjet
bond paper, 20 to 24 lb)
* 1 SMALL cutter with breakable blade
* 1 metal ruler (to be discussed in class)
* 1 2B pencil
* 1 LARGE cutter with breakable blade (to be discussed in the
first class)
