CEIL 100 SU02: Introductory Illustration

Illustration is an effective form for linking images to text and communicating ideas, offering commentary, educating and catching the attention of an audience. In this course you will be introduced to illustration and the many roles it can play. Hands-on projects, presentations, discussions and critiques will expose you to a variety of techniques, media and styles as you explore how content, design elements and materials are used in the translation of ideas into images.

* 1 Watercolour Paint set/12 (suggested: Yarka, Mungyo, Cotman,
or equivalent)
* 1 set of 5 Gouache (3 primaries, black/white)(suggested:
Holbein Acryla)
* Various selection of drawing materials (markers, pens, pencil
crayons, pencils etc.)
* Various Brushes suitable for watermedia (suggested: Allegro
* Paper - Illustration Board Peterboro
* Paper - Bristol Pad any brand and size
* 2-3 Containers for water
* Drawing paper or Sketchbook
* 1 Eraser
* 1 Flower style mixing palette
* 1 Conte Crayon Black 2B	
* 1 Conte Crayon Sanguine
* 1 Conte Crayon White	
* 1 Charcoal Compressed Sticks Conte brand Round 2B
