This course introduces you to the principles of creating accurate drawings from nature. Focusing on form and structure, you will observe natural elements including birds, insects and other fauna. Through close observation, you will learn to translate proportion and depth into two-dimensional representations. Line, tone and value will be explored through work in pen, pencil and ink. Emphasis will be on adherence to detail, literal representation, and measured accuracy towards precise communication through illustration.

* 5 Pencils Drawing (4H,2H,HB,2B,4B)
* 1 White Eraser
* 1 Wire bound sketchbook 11x14"
* 1 Strathmore 300 mixed media pad Paper 
* 1 small watercolour set/ or something you have at home
* 1 Staedtler kneaded eraser
* 1 Speedball Art&Mapping nib - 108 flexible quill
* 1 clear 6" ruler and dividers
* 1 bring your own drawing, and any watercolour brushes you have
* 1 Have a digital camera on hand, if you have one	
* 1 Magnifying glass if you have one	
* 2 watercolour containers (eg jam jars)
