CEPH 120: Black-And-White Film Photog.

This course is for students seeking a robust introduction to the manual operation of a 35mm camera and black-and-white darkroom techniques. Topics include: principles of exposure, use of natural light in photographic imagery, film processing, enlargement techniques and the machine processing of prints. You will be encouraged to expand your understanding of the technical and aesthetic possibilities of photography while developing an awareness of your own approach and interests. More importantly, you will have the opportunity to work in the university's photography studios under the guidance of expert instructors. Please note that this course is not suitable for pregnant individuals due to the materials used.
