The use of colour is one of the most important considerations you will make in your practice. This introductory course is ideal for anyone who wants to understand the principles of colour theory and effectively apply those principles to their body of work. You will investigate the creative use of colour in a variety of mediums and explore its use in developing observational and painting skills as well as creating compositional structure.

* 1 40 or 150ml acrylic alizarin crimson (permanent)
* 1 40 or 150ml hansa yellow light or lemon yellow
* 1 40 or 150ml hansa yellow middle or cadmium yellow middle
* 1 40 or 150ml ultramarine blue
* 1 40 or 150ml phthalo blue
* 1 40 or 150ml yellow ochre or yellow oxide
* 1 40 or 150ml
* 1 Kroma 10 colour set- plus burnt sienna or bring other brands
you have
* 1 40 or 150ml iron oxide or mars black
* 1 40 or 150ml titanium white
* 2 1/2" brush, 1/4" brush, Legato us a good brand to get (1 or
two brushes total)
* 2 containers for water
* 1 canvas pad 9x12" or bigger
* 1 golden glazing liquid (satin)
* brushes, drawing books, pencils, eraser, bring what you have
* 1 acrylic palette or palette pad 
* 1 palette knife metal or plastic
* 1 sketchbook Canson Universal Sketch or Canson Mixed Media 9x12
