Experience the beauty and texture of oil painting. Explore the tools, skills, terminology and imagery of this luminous medium through projects and experimentation. Use and preparation of various surface materials, colour mixing, composition and texture are examined.

Instructor information: 
Please bring the following supplies to class:
* 1 150ml titanium white
* 1 37ml cerulean blue
* 1 37ml ultramarine blue
* 1 37ml azo red middle or cadmium red middle
* 1 37ml quinacrodine red or alizarin red crimson
* 1 37ml azo yellow light or cadmium yellow light 
* 1 37ml azo yellow middle or cadmium yellow middle
* 1 37ml burnt sienna
* 1 37ml raw umber
* 1 optional: additional earth tones from the list: yellow ochre
or burnt umber
** Opus Fortissimo brushes (set of 5) and any additional brushes
you may have
* 1 metal palette knife
* 1 Linseed oil
* Drawing materials: sketchbook, willow charcoal, conte or HB or
2B pencil
* 1 500ml Eco House Citrus Thinner 
* 1 Palette or palette paper
* 1 large metal container to hold brushes, plus 2-3 small
glass/metal containers 
* Three canvases ( 8" x 10", 9" x 12")  to start
* 1 Clear dura-lar or acetate sheet, 8.5 x 11"
