This course introduces you to the essential techniques of painting with watercolour. Through projects and discussion, you will gain familiarity with the properties of watercolour as you explore various approaches to traditional and contemporary concepts. Graded wash, building light and dark values, building perspective and understanding the relation of values to colour will be introduced.

* 1 Watercolour Paint Set/12 in tubes (suggested: Cotman,or Opus
Essentials brand)
* Various Pencils Drawing (variety, including 2H,HB,2B)
* 1 1" masking tape
* 1 Large flat watercolour brush Hake 1" or 2"
* 1 11x14" strathmore 500 series ready cut W/C paper cold press
* 1 11x14" strathmore 500 series ready cut W/C paper hot press
* 1 11x14" strathmore mixed media pad
* 1 Opus allegro sabellite brush set/5
* 1 Atomizer sold at Opus
* 3 Container for water sourced from home
* 1 ceramic (large white dinner plate from home) or butchers tin
* 1 soya sauce dishes (3) or flower palette
* 1 Large bamboo brush #12
