Discover the expansive and dynamic practice of landscape painting. Experimenting with acrylic media and painting tools, students will learn to organize and represent natural and urban landscapes using art and design principles, and composition techniques. Practical observational skills will be developed alongside experimental and conceptual approaches, to experience the full potential and scope of landscape painting.

Essential Items

* 8-10 tubes TOTAL Artist Quality Acrylic Paint Set 60mL size
(such as Kroma 10 colour Set + 1 extra white tube) OR individual
tubes in the following colours:
	Titanium White 60mL x 2 tubes or 150mL x 1 tube	2 tubes
	Mars Black OR Lamp Black, 1 tube
	Azo Red Middle, 1 tube
	Alizarin OR Quinacridone OR Crimson Red, 1 tube
	Primary OR Hansa Yellow Medium,	1 tube
	Hansa Yellow Light OR Lemon Yellow, 1 tube
	Ultramarine Blue, 1 tube
	Phthalo Blue OR Cerulean, 1 tube
Suggested Brands: Kroma, GOLDEN full body or Open paints, or Opus

* Various Brushes suitable for acrylic painting  (suggested: Opus

* 1 Palette Knife (suggested: metal + trowel shape)
* Various Painting Surfaces (suggested: canvas panel, stretched
canvas, masonite etc.) *To be discussed first class*	
* 1 Portable Floor Easel OR tabletop easel *To be discussed first
* 5 sheets Accent Opaque paper (20"x26")
* 1 2B Pencil
* 1 White Eraser
* 2 Chalk pastels - white and one other colour of your choice
* 1 Mixed Media Sketchbook (one you have already started is fine)
* 1 Disposable paper palette (best for outdoor painting) or heavy
glass with duct tape around edges (for indoor painting)
* 2 Painter's Tape, 1 roll each 1" + 2"
* 2-3 Containers for water
* 1 Drawing Board (Art Board) a few inches larger than the
biggest paper you are using
