This intermediate course is designed to further your exploration of acrylic painting as an expressive medium. You will explore and experiment with materials and a variety of conceptual and technical approaches to painting with acrylics. Emphasis will be on your individual development and on enhancing your technical skills and personal expression. The course will move fluidly between traditional applications, and abstract and expressive ones.

CEPN 102 Introductory Acrylic Painting is strongly recommended

Instructor information: 
Please bring the following supplies to class:
*  1  150 ml Titanium white acrylic paint
*  1  60 ml iron oxide black acrylic paint
*  1  plastic water container (yogurt tub or tupperware) 
*  1  little spray bottle of water
*  1  Canson Palette Paper  Pad 12 x 16 inches, cotton painting  
rags or roll of paper towels
*  1  Opus Legato brush set (contains 5 brushes: Number 6 + 10
flat, 0+6 round, 6 filbert)
*  1  Palette knife set (either plastic or metal - metal
*  1  16 oz Golden Satin Glazing liquid
*  1  4" utility brush, 2" utility brush
*  1  Princeton Select Artiste Liner brush, size 0
*  1  60 ml burnt sienna acrylic paint
*  1  60 ml quinacridone magenta acrylic paint
*  1  60 ml cadmium red medium acrylic paint
*  1  60 ml cadmium yellow medium
*  1  60 ml pthalo blue blue acrylic paint
*  1  60 ml hansa yellow lemon acrylic paint
*  1  60 ml ultramarine blue acrylic paint
*  1  60 ml yellow ochre, burnt umber (optional colours)
*  sketchbook, erasers, pencils, pens, masking tape, scissors  
(basically your art toolkit)
