CEPN 224 SU01: Intermediate Watercolour Paint

This intermediate course expands your fundamental skills in watercolour. You will continue to explore traditional, alternative and experimental approaches to creating imagery that is lively, vibrant and authentic. Experimentation and improvisation will help you open up the more expressive and communicative qualities of this fluid and flexible medium. Inspiration will come from working with the still life, the human figure and more imaginative exercises.

CEPN 104 Introductory Watercolour Painting is strongly recommended

Instructor information: 
Please bring the following supplies to class:
Essential Items

* 1 Watercolour Paint Set/12 in tubes (suggested: Cotman, Windsor
Newton, or Opus Essentials brand)
* 1 Watercolour tube: Lemon Yellow 8ml (suggested: Cotman,
Windsor Newton, or Opus Essentials brand)
* Various Pencils Drawing (variety, including HB)
* 1 White Eraser
* 1 set of Brushes suitable for watercolour, including round,
wash, and fine (suggested: Opus Allegro Set/5)
* 1 pad Paper - Watercolour pad or sheets 140 lb (or similar)
* 2-3 Containers for water
* 1 Flower style mixing palette
* 1 Smooth Painting Surface  (suggested: hard board or foamcore,
sized larger than your paper)
* 1 Brown paper tape 1.5"	
* 1 roll of Masking Tape 1"
* 1 Sketchbook (may use one already on hand)
