Screen-printing techniques provide artists with a simple method of applying their images and ideas to a wide variety of materials and surfaces. Expand your image-making options by learning the basics of screen-printing to print your hand-drawn and photographic images onto paper and alternative surfaces. Lessons in concept development, screen and surface preparation, registration and preservation culminate in learning how to establish a studio practice for continued art production and explorations.

Instructor information: 
Please bring the following supplies to class:
*  Bring an apron/workshirt and green nitrile gloves (Safeway)  
*  Old t-shirt to be used for rags (4-6 rags)  
*  1 Notebook or sketchbook
*  High-contrast Photos or drawings to get started
*  Drawing materials (India ink with brush or nibs, black paint
pen, pencils, etc.)
*  Clean yogourt tubs with lids
*  1  1.5" roll masking tape
*  1  x-acto knife  
*  2 sponges for table cleanup
*  4 cake spatulas (dollar store)
*  card board box or tool box for materials  
-  Selection of screen printing inks and papers (to be discussed
at class; approx cost $65.00)
