Despite the growing trend in personal laptop ownership, Emily Carr University of Art + Design is committed to providing access to digital resources for the entire Emily Carr community.  We maintain both Mac and PC labs for faculty and students to utilize in the wide range of programs offered.  The University is constantly examining hardware and software requirements in response to technical innovations and curriculum development. These labs are located in proximity to the main instructional areas.Lab 203b - north building

Emily Carr’s south building has both Mac and PC labs that primarily support communication and industrial design programs. In the north building, there are Mac labs that support a broad program base as well as PC labs that primarily support film, video and animation programs.

ITS technicians work collaboratively with faculty and students to provide technical assistance with hardware, software, printing and account management. By maintaining a consistent and stable lab environment, ITS technicians help to ensure the quality of work produced meets personal and curriculum objectives.  The University’s dedication to excellence in digital technologies is demonstrated by the annual hardware and software refresh program that ensures the latest technologies are available in the labs.

The ITS web pages are full of useful information for faculty and students.  For example, the there is a link for 'Computer Lab Hardware and Software Specs'  which will outline the resources in each lab that best serve your needs.
