This a short-term freelance position with opportunities to network with conservation professionals at the Bird Stewardship Roundtable associated with the International Ornithological Congress in August 2018.

Opportunity Description + Organization Information: 


You will participate in the one-day Bird Stewardship Roundtable (SRT) to occur on August 24, 2018 from 8:45 am to 4:30 pm. Attendence at the SRT is mandatory for this position.

You will be responsible for preparing infographics to be included in an Action Plan for Bird Stewardship.  A total of six infographics, based on the topics below, and a cover illustration will be produced in cooperation with the SRT Steering Committee. Stewardship themes include: 

  • Cats and Birds Living in Harmony
  • Co-benefits of Agricultural Land as Bird Habitat
  • Climate Adaptation for Birds and Wildlife
  • Urban Habitat for Wildlife and Birds
  • Birds and Building Collisions
  • Wildlife Management Areas / Important Bird Areas & Shorelines


The deliverables will be produced within one week of the event, by August 31, 2018.


Admission into the Bird Stewardship Roundtable and evening reception. 

Opportunity to meet with conservation professionals from Bird Studies Canada, Nature Canada, the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, Simon Fraser university, and many more.

Contribution to a plan which will support conservation of birds, wildlife, and habitat in BC and beyond. 


We are unable to pay salary for this position. A stipend of $300 is available for participation in the one day event plus deliverables.

Previous experience creating infographics.
